How are we doing today? Most organizations will benefit with a quick check on current fund development activities and programs, to see how they are impacting both the bottom line and the mission of the organization. We utilize a tool that was developed for nonprofits that accomplishes this very task and can be accomplished within a matter of days or weeks - not months. Let us show you how impactful this information can be relative to informing how your current development activities are working from both an objective (financial) and subjective (mission impact) perspective. The clarity of this single tool can literally help springboard a whole new strategy that is based on a clear understanding of the impact of your current activities.

How can we find more donors?Donor cultivation is a long term strategy that contains several elements starting with research to identify prospective donors. This research can start with current donors, staff, board, volunteers and other supporters and stakeholders. The goal is to identify who you are going to ask. The cultivation activities that follow are focused on one thing: building the basis of long term relationships and that is the work of the staff and the board. What we can do is to help you execute a plan to research and identify your prospects and give you some guidelines & tools to help you engage those donors in a way that has genuine meaning and develops trust. Like all relationships that matter to us, donor relationships must also be based on trust that is earned over time.

How do we develop our donors? It is a well documented fact that the cost of cultivating a new donor far outweighs that of maintaining the ones you have. How much attention are you paying to this truth? What is your current rate of donor turnover and what is this costing your organization? Our first order of business has to be to take a clear look at this important question and establish a plan of action to ensure that we retain as many of our donors as possible. from there we can turn our attention to the opportunity to move donors up the "giving pyramid" as many call it - turning fundraiser attendees into annual donors and annual donors into major donors and major donors into planned giving donors. This is the work of donor development and we can help.
